In this new monthly sub-feature, I revisit a Wishlist Wednesday title that I have since acquired and had the opportunity to play, sharing whether or not it is still a good wishlist item. This month's choice is Panoramical by Fernando Ramallo and David Kanaga.

GAMEPLAY SCREENSHOTS
GAMEPLAY EXPERIENCE
Think of this less like a game and more of an interactive experience where
you can adjust the sound and appearance of the images in front of you. I
feel like you could really have a lot of fun using a midi controller (that's
an option!) because there are 9 keys you hold to adjust: Q, W, E, A, S, D,
Z, X, C. While holding any/many/all of these, you move the mouse to adjust
the "crosshairs" on the corresponding square in the bottom left corner of
the screen. Each box adjusts some aspect of the audio and visual of each
"level" of the game. In this way, you have full control of your experience
and what you see.
VERDICT
Yes, this game holds up. You might need to be an artsy-fartsy type or
an all-out music nerd to get really excited about it, but it is enjoyable just
to play around with on a casual level. It's a sandbox of a kind, and one that
helps people explore their own expressions. I could wish for more audio
variety, but that's a small complaint based on how lovely the visuals are. You
SHOULD NOT buy this game if you are prone to seizures or are sensitive to
visual stimuli. There is a setting to decrease things a bit, but you'd do best
to err on the side of caution. Everyone else? Feel free to pay full price or
wait for a sale -- you shouldn't be disappointed either way.
If that isn't enough to pique your interest, then this probably isn't your genre -- and that's okay! Check back next week for another title and let me know what you think of my selection!
